Maison Eight: Bringing France to Hong Kong

Maison Eight: Bringing France to Hong Kong

Designed by Two Men in Hats, the place will have French cuisine, cocktails and champagne

April 1, 2016: Creating its own scene in vibrant Hong Kong, Maison Eight brings with it French cuisine, cocktails, champagne and parties under one roof with a sartorial attitude. Design, fashion and hospitality are at the forefront of the concept, making 8 Observatory Road the address to see and be seen.

Maison Eight is designed by Two Men in Hats. Guests walk through the hand stamped Italian leather doors into the penthouse where they are surrounded by spectacular views across Kowloon and Hong Kong Island.

Intimate French restaurant esmé illustrates passion for the classical approach to food and service. The ideal new venue in Kowloon for long lunches, business liaisons and extravagant evenings, esmé is elegantly designed with French flair. Executive Chef and General Manager Joe Chan returns to Hong Kong to craft classic French menus with a pinch of inspiration from his travels. With one of the largest boutique wine lists in Hong Kong, carefully selected by Assistant General Manager Guillaume Places, guests will understand that the best wines are to be enjoyed, not just collected.

Salvatore at Maison Eight is the first cocktail bar in Asia by The Maestro, world-renowned bartender Salvatore Calabrese, and is headed by his protégé Fabien Marcault. Together they have created a  menu which includes a modern approach to classic cocktails, a selection of the Maestro’s Signature cocktails and some exciting new offerings of Asian influence, exclusive to Maison Eight. Their style is evident in their 10.8m bar, inspired by the depths of Victoria Harbour and the moody skies of the city.

The Ballroom at Maison Eight is a modern reinvention of the classic ballroom with coach built detailing and its very own private terrace – the place to drink, dine, parade and party. The salon, great for lunch and afternoon tea, transforms into a lounge in the evenings for social dining, events and gatherings. A soundtrack for all the hours of the day and night has been carefully curated with live performances and international DJs in the line-up.

Maison Eight is host to the world’s first Bollinger Champagne Room, LE CLUB 1829, a vintage inspired private room. LE CLUB 1829 offers a peek into the adjacent wine cellar where over 2,300 bottles reside.
